Your Hosts

Jodi Feist King

I love chaos and the beauty of that which is imperfectly perfect just like each one of us and all of nature.  By spending time outside with land, trees, plants and animals we begin to see that everything is connected and we are never alone.   Community is so important for emotional and mental health and provides a support system for creating a fun and rewarding experience. Let us come together and  love, laugh and be inspired.

I have been blessed enough to be the steward of Wray Barton Manor for the past 20 years and in that time the land, and the friendly local people, have softened me and given me much wisdom and inspiration.  Now I'd love to share the very best of what I've experienced with others.

I have enjoyed practicing Hindu Buddhism, Reiki, Core Shamanism, Bee Shamanism and Nordic Runes on Dartmoor, and have also studied international business and culture and love the inclusivity of embracing our differences, not attempting to correct them.  I am opening up my house and land to a community of like minded artists; those who love the beauty of all that is without judgment.  I am a self taught artist who also has a passion for natural beekeeping, dance, wild swimming and running with my wolves.  I have three wonderful now grown daughters who have shared and cared for Wray Barton, giving their time and love over the years which has added to the magic of this incredible home.

More on my background can be found  HERE.

The Wolves

Meet Rohan and Roxy!  They are the life and soul of Wray Barton land and love all visitors.  Never have been known to say no to an early morning adventure in the woods, Moors, or along the nature trail.  All walkers welcome to take them out for a walk/run or of course show them love.  They will give you ten times that amount back! Rohan is 7 years old and Roxy is 3 years.  They are both a cross between Siberian Husky and American Akita.

The history of the wolf pack at Wray Barton began with one little female Siberian Husky named Sklya who came to stay in March 2018.  The evolving love story between her and Hades, their subsequent family, and their tragic deaths can be found HERE.

The Bees

There are 4 wild bee colonies on Wray Barton land who each arrived of their own accord.  The first one flew into its log-hive, 20ft off the ground located n a sycamore tree overlooking the valley, in 2019.  The second one arrived in 2020 and flew into a frameless  Warre Hive in the centre of the ancient walled Rose Garden. (The Red Hive)  The third found it's home in 2021, in the lower sunken garden in a log-hive given as a gift from friends in Portugal. (Bertha)  And the forth one arrived one hour after the log-hive was erected, an absolute miracle,  and it also happened to be on International Bee Day, May 20th 2022. (Chester)

The bees teach us so much about community and working together for the greatest good. They are extremely intelligent and know how to best survive;   their presence on Earth far predates humans. They are friendly and provide many blessing upon the land spiritually and physically.  We will tap into their energy through energetic practices in order to have more insight into creativity.  (optional)

More can be discovered about natural beekeeping HERE.

Art Adventures

I am happy to take resident artists for art adventures on Dartmoor National Park with its ancient and many faceted spots of beauty and sacredness.  After two years of study with the Nordic Runes as they apply to the Dartmoor National Park landscape and my own internal landscape, I would love to pass on these methods to other creatives.

We also have mobile easels and stools for those moments which demand to be captured.  Lunch or dinner at one of the many ancient local pubs before or after, or a picnic during, are options.
